Program Deactivation

Academic program deactivation is a multi-step process run quarterly.

See Hung's detailed Program Deactivation documentation for the full step-by-step procedure. The steps below are a summary.

Step ONE — Identify Programs to Deactivate

Identify programs that are no longer active and need to be deactivated in Colleague.

Step TWO — Prepare Student Records

Review student records currently in the programs to be deactivated. Ensure students are moved to active programs before deactivation.

Step THREE — SPRO Updates

Inactivate the academic programs on SPRO with appropriate end dates.

Step FOUR — Verify

Verify all student records have been updated and no active students remain in the deactivated program.

Step FIVE — Final Cleanup

Complete any remaining cleanup steps as outlined in Hung's documentation.

Step SIX — RLDE

Update any RLDE rules that reference the deactivated programs.

Step SEVEN — Communication

Notify relevant departments of the program deactivation.

Step EIGHT — Documentation

Document the deactivation in the appropriate logs.
